The Lipsey Auditorium, which is accessible from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Town Square in the Seymour H. Knox Building, holds approximately 400 people and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and drink are not allowed in the museum.

Join us for a Lipsey Summer Jazz performance by The Buffalo Jazz Collective!

The Buffalo Jazz Collective, under the direction of Dr. Mark Filsinger (Buffalo State University), will present a concert featuring the music of Duke Ellington. The ensemble will include Filsinger on trumpet, Paul LaDuca on bass, and Jazz Buffalo Poll winners Alex McArthur (vocals), Elliot Scozzaro (saxophone), John Hasselback Jr. (trombone), George Caldwell (piano), and John Bacon (drums). The group will perform specially crafted vocal and instrumental arrangements of one of the most prolific and influential jazz composers. Duke Ellington’s career spanned from the 1920s to the 1970s, and his music consistently reflected the prevailing cultural and social currents of his time.
