Each Wednesday this month we're highlighting five women artists with works in our collection. We begin with artists active between the mid-1800s and the mid-1900s.

Sonia Delaunay: A Retrospective Exhibition—the largest survey ever assembled of Delaunay’s work at that time—opened with a Members’ Preview on February 2, 1980.

With this exhibition, the museum returned to its modernist roots with a complete display of all works in the collection by four masters: Picasso, Braque, Léger, and Delaunay.
